Holmes County Fair is the smallest one of those we go to. Millersburg is a nice little town situated in the heart of Amish Country. Surrounding countryside reminds me of Bohemian Paradise with its numerous hills, round shapes and vast fields colored in several shades of green. Right next to fairgrounds you can enter Holmes County Trail - an old, romantic looking country road twisted in pastures, fields and woods. When running five miles along this way I only encountered four cyclists and one Amish buggy. Cars are not allowed on this road so it keeps its original form and atmosphere. On Thursday morning Peter, Ryan and I went running 5 km together, which was fun and I could finally compare my stamina with someone else's. Peter stopped after 2 or 3 km, Ryan and I ran those 5 km but he accelerated a lot in the end and I wasn't able to keep up with him. Still I was satisfied with my performance.
Sometimes I nickname Holmes County Fair "a milkshake fair" for its abundance of dairy products, especially flavored milk, ice cream and milkshakes. I enjoyed that as a temporary break from other typical fair food like French fries, pizza, sausages, burgers, etc.
